For me, Chrome on Android suffers from frame drops but Firefox doesnt. Actually doing a spot check right now, they both use about 300MB to show Google News, with very little difference. I find Chrome faster and more responsive on desktop, but Firefox is much more performant on Android. theres not a huge difference in system ressources in use between the two, since theyre partly using the same browser engine. On Chrome (and also Edge, Brave) I tried basically every flag setting imaginable, some extensions and no extensions at all - nothing leaded to any significant improvement. However Samsung Internet is way better than Chrome. Browser itself also looks smoother without common microstutters as in Chrome. On Firefox it's still not perfect but a lot better. Videos drop frames, look out of sync everywhere etc etc. I have started to use edge for some days and now i feel that chrome was using less resources than edge.

In Chrome&co it is a laggy mess, scrolling sometimes barely works, loading times exceed 10 seconds here and there, going to fullscreen takes forever. But the most significant improvement is YouTube.
